New Salpausselkä Vesi -groundwater website highlights the source of Teerenpeli whiskies

Lahti region boasts exceptionally high-quality groundwater, formed through ancient glacial processes. Its unique soil composition — featuring gravel ridges and moraine formations — naturally filters the water, ensuring it remains clean and requires minimal treatment.

The Salpausselkä ridge, formed during the Ice Age, produces naturally filtered groundwater known for its purity and stability. Due to its exceptional quality, Salpausselkä Vesi -groundwater is now being proposed for EU PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) name protection.

A new website dedicated to Salpausselkä Vesi -groundwater has been launched, celebrating the exceptional groundwater of the Lahti region — the same pure water used in crafting Teerenpeli Distillery’s award-winning whiskies.
